  10. Manual Installation Procedures

  14.      Windows 3.1:
  15.      ------------
  16.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
  17.         for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
  18.         unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN31DRV
  19.         sub-directory.
  20.  
  21.      2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist. 
  22.         (Example:       MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
  23.                         MD C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)

  25.      3. Copy all files to the WIN31DRV directory.
  26.         (Example:  A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)

  28.      4. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
  29.         (Example:  WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)
  30.  
  31.      5. Verify operation of your Windows 3.1 installation in standard VGA
  32.         mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.
  33.  
  34.      6. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
  35.      
  36.         File
  37.         Run
  38.         C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
  39.        
  40.      7. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
  41.         you to select the desired resolution and colors.
  42.  
  43.      8. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if 
  44.         you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
  45.         enter the path where the Windows 3.1 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
  46.         can be found. At this prompt type:

  48.         C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV
  49.  
  50.      9. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to the Control Panel inside
  51.         Windows.
